Chiefs have announced via Twitter, that they have picked up Team ASDF, who recently qualified for the ESEA Global Challenge LAN, after ironically defeating the previous roster in the Oceania division of ESEA Open Season 22 yesterday.
Despite the loss of MoeycQ retiring and a few players being seen qualifying for the ESL Australia & NZ Championships Season 2 with a different team called ADD, Callum "BURNRUOk" Henderson and Mark "deStiny" Kagan planned to finish off their ESEA season with the rest of the Chiefs members before splitting paths.
Fast on its feet, the Australian organisation was quick to act, taking the opportunity to bring in Team ASDF under their brand. The new Chiefs, filled with younger players than before will be led by Michael "Lightstep" Hall once again and Tyler "tucks" Reilly, who both competed in Chiefs in the past.
Lightstep and tucks return to represent Chiefs again
The duo won the CyberGamer Premier League Season 4 Finals last year in a previous Chiefs line-up. Due to tucks serving a ESL ban at the time, Lightstep went on to compete at the first Asian Minor, IEM Taipei in late January, with two stand-ins. The mix Chiefs team finished 3rd-4th at their first international event.
Lightstep will be hungry for another attempt internationally at ESEA GC LAN, which his team will be attending next week. Before that, the roster will be making their first offline appearance under their new organisation in the upcoming CyberGamer Oceania eSports Masters Finals this weekend, facing Parallax in their semi-final match.
Chiefs’ roster is following:
Michael "Lightstep" Hall
Tyler "tucks" Reilly
Alistair "aliStair" Johnston
Joshua "INS" Potter
Liam "malta" Schembri
Chris "CHRiSOAOW" Forman (Substitute)
